MDMX3 Modular Dual Mobility Acetabular System

The Modular Dual Mobility (MDM) Liner is intended for cementless use only.

The MDM Liner is intended for use with Trident or Tritanium acetabular cups only. Additionally, the MDM Liner is not intended for use as a metal-on-metal or ceramic-on-metal articulation.

No testing has been conducted to determine that these bearing couples produce favorable mechanical outcomes. Only Stryker 22.2mm or 28mm femoral heads should be inserted into the ADM/MDM polyethylene inserts. Further, do not substitute another manufacturer’s device for any component of the ADM/MDM Acetabular System.

Any such use will negate the responsibility of Howmedica Osteonics Corp. for the performance of the resulting mixed component implant.

Accolade II - Femoral Hip Bone

Addressing modern demands with innovative technology Stryker has come up with ACCOLADE II Femoral Hip bone.

Stryker utilised SOMA technology to design a innovative stem building upon the conventional tapered wedge femoral design, incorporating unique features to allow for an enhanced implant fit in todays patient population. By establishing an increased canal fit and fill, Accolade II has been shown to allow for improved stability10, decreased intraoperative femoral fractures11, as well as very good survivorship and functional outcomes 12,13, ultimately leading to satisfied patients

Accolade II Surgical Technique

The Accolade II Femoral Hip System is a femoral stem that is intended for cementless, press-fit application. The proximal region of the stem is coated with PureFix HA over a commercially pure titanium plasma spray substrate. The Morphometric Wedge — an evolution of the tapered wedge — is characterized by its variable, size-specific medial curvature. The Accolade II Femoral Hip System is suitable for various surgical approaches, including direct anterior.

The total system includes:

  • 12 body sizes ranging from size 0 to size 11.

  • Two anatomic offset options for each size.
The stem is designed for use with Stryker V40 femoral heads and their compatible acetabular components.

The Accolade II Hip System includes a broach-only instrumentation platform that accommodates all surgical approaches and has been streamlined for surgical efficiency.

Biolox Delte - Ceramic Femoral head

BIOLOX® delta ceramic is a biocomposite Alumina Matrix Composite (AMC) material. This combination of nearly 75% alumina and 25% zirconia provides extremely low wear, superior mechanical strength and improved fracture toughness.

. In laboratory testing, BIOLOX® delta ceramic is up to 50% stronger than BIOLOX® forte alumina ceramic5. This allows for additional head offset sizes and allows BIOLOX® delta ceramic to be used on our Stryker cobalt chrome femoral stems.

Several intermediate head offsets are available with BIOLOX® delta Ceramic Femoral Heads sold by Stryker in order to provide you with additional options for your patients. All Stryker femoral stems are compatible with BIOLOX® delta Ceramic Femoral Heads sold by Stryker.

The BIOLOX® delta ceramic material is compatible with titanium and stainless steel as well as cobalt chrome tapers. BIOLOX® delta Ceramic Femoral Heads sold by Stryker are available in both Stryker C-Taper and V40™ tapers.

Universal Head Bipolar System

Universal Head is a leader among bipolar component designs. Released in 1979 and patented in 1980, the UHR® Universal Head introduced two important design concepts to the field of orthopaedics.
The first was dynamic valgus, a neutral alignment of the head during component loading that minimized wear on the locking mechanism. The second was the development of a one-piece, positive locking mechanism that provided enhanced security against component disassembly. Both of these developments revolutionized bipolar designs.

The concept of dynamic valgus alignment was introduced by Stryker Orthopaedics® to provide increased head coverage during component loading. A two millimeter displacement toward the dome of the UHR® Universal Head minimizes inner bearing articulation from occurring on the locking mechanism, thus sparing the mechanism from undue wear.

Exeter

The highly polished, double tapered design of the Exeter hip has demonstrated clinical success over several decades. With an increasing number of commercially available polished double taper stems, it is important to understand the differences in designs. The Exeter cemented femoral hip system is designed for surgeons that are looking to utilize a single system for all hip indications, primary, fracture and revision, with a single proven system.

With over 40 years of proven clinical history, Exeter has demonstrated successful clinical performance1 in peer-reviewed medical journals and national joint registries.

  • In one study, Exeter demonstrated 100% survivorship at 17 years follow-up with an endpoint of revision for aseptic loosening in a diverse patient group.

  • In one study, Exeter demonstrated 100% survivorship at 17 years follow-up with an endpoint of any re-operation for aseptic loosening in patients under 50 years old.

Trident Acetabular System

This is Trident Polyethylene and Alumina Ceramic Inserts with PSL Acetabular Shells. The Trident Acetabular System utilizes the CuttingEdge Total Hip Acetabular Instrumentation.

The Trident PSL Acetabular System is a two-piece component design that is assembled during surgery.Trident PSL HAAcetabular Shells provide a 1.8mm peripheral press-fit. The true Trident PSL shape is designed to achieve a 1.0-1.8mm interference fit. Trident PSL shells have a 1.8mm oversize periphery (e.g., 52mm shell = 53.8mm periphery at the rim of the shell).
